You should easily create your first score with this guideline.

1) Use pen and paper!

A draft will make you gain time.

2) Place the voices:

Click on the bottom left icon then chose the instruments you want to add on the score. If you do a mistake, the icon on its right (with the blue cross) admits to delete useless voices.

3) Placer the measures:

You know nothing about Solfège and you intend to write an African rhythm:

• if it's binary (12 12), click on the 4/4 icon and chose 4/4 then click in the stave you want.
• if it's ternary (123 123...), click on the 9/8 icon and chose 12/8 then click in the stave you want.

4) Place the notes:

Measures are set on thus you can add notes in them. Chose in the top left corner the note or rest you want to add. You can add them by clicking on the score in the beat of your choice. The position where you click on a stave fixes the pitch of the note.

To delete a note, use the right click in the beat.

5) Save your work

In the menu on the top, select File/Save. It open a new window. You can save your score wherever you want. I advise you yo save it in the "score" repertory. The file extension is ".xml". A file name is for example: "kassa.xml".

6) Complete your score:

You should now be used to the way Percufola works: Every items are based on the same principle. You select it on the left thereby the cursor look is changed on the score. A different cursor means that you can act in a different way on the score.

6.1) Add accentuation:

Click on the > icon then on notes to emphasize. A right click delete the accentuation.

6.2) Place hands:

Click on the hand shaped icon. On the score, a left click set the dominant hand on a note. The right one set the other one. To delete a hand specification on a note, use the middle button on it.

6.3) Place flams :

Chose the flam icon which is a crossed-out quaver then click on the note you want to modify. You can click on a different height to create a flam with two different sounds such as a Slap-Bass flam.

The left click create a flam which finishes on the note. The right click create a flam which begins on the note. The middle click delete the flam.

6.4) Change texts :

Chose the I icon then just click on the text you want to modify.

7) Do not forget to save your score.
